Hey, it’s Tom, now settting a world record of four posts in four days. And now I’m kinda realizing why I don’t do this more often -I have nothing to talk about! I’m slowly realizing that my life isn’t that interesting after all. Why can’t I be more like the exciting bloggers that I grew up admiring, where something wild falls into their laps every day!
So I think it might be time for me to lend a sense of focus and purpose to this blog thing. I’m gonna start talking about specific things, doing reviews and recommendations. And I’m open to review suggestions. Is there a candy bar or a comic book you want me to weigh in on? Let me know and I’ll give it the Scharpling Treatment. Look out, major conglomerates – there’s a new critic in town and his name is Tom! Dudes like Gene Shalit should look out also, because if this thing goes the way I see it, they will be out of business by early December. So go to the Friends Of Tom message board and let me know what you want me to check out!
I actually had a thought about something that I could review, based on a book that I bought a couple months ago and am finally gonna read. It’s called THE MAN WHO SAVED BRITAIN, and it’s about the impact that the character of James Bond had on England. Or at least that’s what the back of the book says – maybe my copy is actually hollowed out and has a murder weapon inside!
I’ve hardly been the world’s biggest James Bond fan. It’s a franchise whose charms have eluded me for most of my life – CASINO ROYALE felt like the first Bond movie that was aimed at me. But I’ve always WANTED to like the movies. So I thought that maybe I would watch all the Bond movies in order and sum them up. One every couple days. Howzabout it? Good idear? Stupid idear? Let me know. And also let people know that The Kid is blogging like a madman!
Later, skaters -
Tom.
